Shit, I'm a Ghost Blogger...

I just realized the other day that I'm the newest Ghost Blogger on CementHorizon and I immediately felt ashamed of being so lame and busy that I could neglect you, my loyal readers (hehe), for over 35 days!

Let's see... within the last 35 days I went to my home/birth town, Jamestown, NY for a week to attend my cousin Andy's wedding and spend some long-overdue time with my grandparents and other cousins. As when my whole family went to Jamestown in September for my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary and vow renewal, my coming for the wedding was kept a surprise. When my counsin Andy saw me, I think that he was too flustered about his wedding being moments away to really express his surprise and happiness to see me. His father, my dad's little brother, Mark, was the happiest to see me... and I was totally amazed at how much he looks like my dad now that they're both in their late 40's and showing some signs of gray hairs.

I'd say the most "exciting" thing that happened to me in Jamestown was finally getting to go out and see a little of what the town is actually like on a Friday night. My Aunt Pam, my dad's little sister, and her husband, Jim, took me out to a couple bars in Jamestown, one being (according to Pam) the "imfamous Bullfrog" which is a kinda biker bar where my dad used to play when he was in a band called "Fox" in the early 70's. My dad used to be a rock god in that town, apparently, and everyone who I was introduced to remembered him, even the bartender... hello, free drink! At the Bullfrog, we ran into one of my dad's bestest best friends from back in the day, Brian Person, who I took a picture with to show my dad. I got real drunk on Tequila Sunrises and Pam and Jim took me back to my grandparents' house around 1:30am... good thing they were already in bed when I got there.

I could go on and on about stuff I did there, but none of it is that particularly interesting or amusing, so I'll just say that I really enjoyed this trip out there more than any other in the past. It was really relaxing, the countryside was beautiful and green, my bigg-ass family wasn't there to complicate plans and fight with me and I really go to talk to and get to know the Almquists there much better than before. The only downside was that I really missed Aaron while I was gone and I had super early, crappy flights out there and back... oh, and I had to watch "Daredevil" and "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" on the way there and back. Ugh! Talk about torture!

Those movies were on the flights I took to the Netherlands. Daredevil was as boring as a dental hygeine lecture, however I am ashamed to admit that Ben Affleck with blue eyes (contacts) is attractive. There! I said it. Commence flaming me for my undiscerning eyes. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days looked like pure fluff. I watched it without the headphones on, making up cheesy dialog for the characters in my head, but I'm sure my dialog was less cheesy than what was actually spoken. At the end of the movie there's a stupid-stupid chase scene where McConaghy (I'm not even going to bother to spell that right) chases after Hudson on a motorcycle and stops her taxi just in time to stop her from flying away. [imitates the sound of a cat puking]

I'm glad you had fun on your trip. Isn't it nice to get away?

I'm not going to flame you for thinking that Ben Affleck looks cute with blue eyes... you seem to already know very well how unattractive he actually is and that's enough for me.
